Bob Kerzner, president and CEO of LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global, opened the 2008 LIMRA Annual Meeting addressing more than 500 attendees from 25 countries. The meeting focused on the need for strong leadership in these troubled economic times and the pressing issues facing the industry. The meeting featured speakers including Gordon Bethune, former president and CEO of Continental Airlines, Jacob Hacker, professor of political science at University of California, Berkeley, Tom Morris, philosopher and author, Quincy Krosby, chief investment strategist for the Hartford and Frank Keating, president and CEO of the American Council of Life Insurers. The meeting culminated with a rousing panel discussion from The McLaughlin Group, who discussed the impact of the economic crisis on upcoming presidential election.
