Weitz brings over 30 years of sales, distribution, and marketing experience in the life insurance industry to LIMRA Consulting. He specializes in strategic and tactical planning, implementation, and development of distribution programs for independent and alternative distribution channels. This includes designing programs and their supporting products to expand sales through multiple distribution channels.
Prior to joining LIMRA, Weitz was senior vice president and chief marketing officer for GE Capital Life Assurance Company of New York and American Mayflower Life. In addition to product development and sales support activities, he was responsible for ongoing relations with independent brokerage general agents, banks, and securities firms. Prior to his responsibilities at GE's New York insurance operations, Weitz held senior officer positions in charge of Transamerica's individual marketing and brokerage areas, and was senior vice president of brokerage operations at Life of Virginia.
He began his career in the insurance industry at State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America. Weitz subsequently held management positions with both Aetna Life & Casualty and Underwriters Service Agency, where he was a vice president responsible for a brokerage territory, as well as for training and advanced underwriting. His field management and home office training skills were honed in various officer positions at Transamerica Life Companies, including responsibility for a regional brokerage territory, institutional marketing through securities firms, and sales support activities for multiple distribution systems.
Weitz holds a B.A. from Adelphi University and a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law. He is a past president of the Inter-Company Marketing Group and a past chair of LIMRA's Brokerage Committee.
