Previously, Nirav was a partner at Oliver Wyman and he contributed to The Profit Zone, a book profiling strategic decision-making by the world's most successful companies. Prior to that, Nirav worked in the Rapid Prototyping Group at MITRE Corporation, where he developed satellite communication algorithms for the US Army. He has an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Signal Processing at Boston University. Nirav serves on the boards of various financial services, energy, and medical technology companies. He also serves as Chairman of the Boston Children's Museum board.

Douglas began her career at LIMRA in 1998 as an analyst in Product Research, where she shaped LIMRA’s long-term care insurance research program. Jennifer received her bachelor's degree in mathematics from Central Connecticut State University and her master's degree in research, measurement, and quantitative analysis from Southern Connecticut State University.

Some of his recent work has included M&A assignments for life and non-life companies, product development projects, and a liabilities study under IFRS and USGAAP. Héctor is also Member of the Board of the Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He has more than 25 years of experience in building robust analytical models using both big and small data sets to solve business problems. A trained econometrician, he started his career at Wharton Econometrics in the early 90's where he was responsible for developing large scale econometric models using techniques of 'statistical learning', the precursor to machine learning models in use today. Manish was a senior consultant at Oliver Wyman before accepting the role of Country Manager, Telecom SBU at Microsoft.

    Murilo Gun is a Brazilian comedian, creativity speaker and founder of Keep Learning School. As a comedian Murilo has hosted 3 TV shows, including a stand-up comedy show at Comedy Central Brazil and the Brazilian version of the American show “Impractical Jokers”, as well as his own stand-up comedy special on Netflix Brazil. As a creativity speaker he has been hired by 1/3 of the TOP 100 companies in Brazil, and has more than 7,000 students enrolled in his online creativity course. Finally, as founder at Keep Learning School, Murilo leads a team of 15 people that offer online learning experiences about creativity and parenting. In 2014 he one of the world's 80 entrepreneurs selected to attend Singularity University and live for 10 weeks at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, studying about disruptive technologies.

    R. Dale Hall is Managing Director of Research for the Society of Actuaries in Schaumburg, Illinois. In his role, Dale coordinates the SOA’s strategic research partnerships, oversees SOA experience studies, coordinates research across the SOA’s wide variety of actuarial practice areas, and directs the SOA’s data-driven in-house research initiatives. He is a frequent speaker at insurance and retirement industry meetings to highlight SOA research, including presentations to the actuarial task forces of the NAIC and congressional committee testimony on pension plan mortality rates. He has appeared on behalf of the SOA in a variety of media outlets including coverage on C-SPAN and National Geographic’s BREAKTHROUGH television series, and hosts the weekly Society of Actuaries Research Insights Podcast. Prior to joining the SOA, Dale spent over 20 years in the US insurance industry, primarily as Chief Actuary for the Life/Health companies of COUNTRY Financial.

He also serves on the Advisory Board of the American Fund, Alpha4ventures. In 2013, Eduardo founded Colon Compañía de Seguros in Argentina that gained rapid growth and currently has 500.000 insureds. He has a Bachelor in Business Administration, and obtained a Graduate Degree in Business at Harvard University.
  • Carlos Islas Murguía

    For more than 25 years, Carlos has worked for in the insurance and banking sectors in several positions as officer in various insurance companies; most recently he was the director of AXA Corporate University and led a new distribution channel, being in charge of 300 direct agents in two different cities. He was Risk Management Director in Grupo Financiero Promex Finamex, and prior to this, he was an insurance agent for Grupo Nacional Provincial, holding important positions in sales and attending Conventions every year. Within the insurance guild, he served as co-Chair of AMIS´ Distribution Channels Committee and has participated as a spokesperson promoting an insurance culture in national media in programs such as Fernanda Familiar. He was also a columnist for Forbes Magazine for 2 years and was on TV for more than 2 years in Excelsior TV with journalist Rodrigo Pacheco. Academically, Carlos has two degrees: one in Business Administration, graduating from La Salle University and the other in Psychology from the University of the Valley of Mexico. He also has a Master´s Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. in Neuropsychoanalysis from the Intercontinental University.

    Andrea Keenan is an economist and the Senior Managing Director of Industry Relations at AM Best, where she has been instrumental in promoting their data and analytic capabilities, as well as the development of their country risk analytics. Andrea launched AM Best's first emerging market subsidiary in Mexico City, has acted as an advisor in international regulatory efforts towards financial inclusion, and has performed her own research on the business potential of microinsurance and on the contribution of microinsurance to overall economic growth.

She received her bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University and her master's degree from the University of Hartford.

    Michael J. McCord is one of the world's leading experts in developing and managing microinsurance products and has been a key figure in the field for over two decades. He combines experience as controller of a U.S. commercial bank, CEO of a microfinance institution (MFI) in Uganda, regional director for microfinance programs in Africa, founder and president of the MicroInsurance Centre, and current managing director of the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman. Michael's specializations include institutional development for microinsurance, new product development, assessment and analysis of microinsurance programs, research, and regulation and supervision in inclusive insurance. Michael has written extensively on microinsurance, including as a multiple contributor to "Protecting the Poor, A Microinsurance Compendium" and as co-author of "Making Insurance Work for Microfinance" as well as "The Landscape of Microinsurance in the World’s 100 Poorest Countries." He is the author of numerous microinsurance case studies and other documents to facilitate partnership relationships in microinsurance.
