This study investigates the services provided by advisors to their pre-retiree and recently retired clients, focusing on retirement income planning. It also explores the role of annuities in advisors’ practices, including why some advisors do not sell them, and what it might take for them to start. Throughout, differences in the practices, activities, and attitudes of advisors across affiliation and other characteristics are highlighted.
