To provide a forum for LIMRA member insurance companies and technology service providers to participate in an open discussion on how to cohesively work together and define better outcomes. Goal is to connect the participants with peers and technology purveyors to learn, network and share innovative ideas to help identify potential solutions to existing challenges.

Seminar Details 

Workshops will be 60 minutes long. Sessions will consist of formal presentations, workshops, and open forum discussions. All workshops will be repeated to allow attendees the opportunity to attend more sessions.

Miles Archer was appointed vice president of internal audit in 2015. In that capacity, he is responsible for a team of audit professionals that provide comprehensive business and risk assurance and advisory support for all of the company’s US-based insurance operations (Unum and Colonial Life). Prior to assuming his current role, Miles was vice president and chief counsel of the Unum US business operations law and compliance function, where he led a team of almost 50 attorneys and compliance professionals that provided strategic business partnership and support for the legal, compliance and regulatory aspects of Unum’s US product lines and operating platforms.

General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer , Plansource

As General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Patricia oversees global legal activities and policies, as well as compliance and ethics, licensing and regulatory affairs, investigations, and brand protection. A primary part of her focus is developing solutions to simplify the organization’s support for sales and services transactions, including process automation and anticipation of future transactional needs.

Prior to joining PlanSource, Patricia served in both in-house and general counsel roles/environment and in private practice. She served as Associate General Counsel for CoAdvantage Holdings, Inc., a national employment services and technology company in Orlando, Florida and Corporate Counsel for Advantec, a professional employee leasing company in Tampa, Florida. In those positions, Patricia played a central role in supporting corporate transactions, corporate governance, compliance and ethics, internal policy management, intellectual property, labor and employment, human resources, and licensing and regulatory affairs. Patricia has also investigated and prepared responses to claims brought by employees through the administrative processes of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor.

Brandon has been with Prudential's Group Insurance for over 13 years in various roles including Case Implementation, Marketing and Enrollment. Brandon is currently the Director of Third Party Enrollment focusing on building relationships and integration with enrollment vendors. Brandon works with Vendors, Clients and Brokers to help create the best experience possible for employees during the enrollment process.

Ken Grohe is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Products at Barracuda. Grohe brings more than 27 years of technology experience to Barracuda, where he has responsibility for CudaCam and SignNow, and for driving Barracuda Essentials for Office 365 via Barracuda’s extensive partner network. Grohe joins Barracuda from Virident/HGST, where he served as Vice President of Worldwide Customer Operations since April 2013. While at Virident, he expanded the sales and partner teams, and acquired new customers and OEMs, which directly contributed to its $685 million acquisition by HGST, a division of Western Digital. Previously, Grohe was at EMC for more than 25 years. While at EMC, he held a number of executive sales and partner positions and led several internal “start-up” disruption technologies that helped grow the company from its initial listing on NYSE to $22 billion in revenue.

Director of Corporate Compliance, PlanSource

As Director of Corporate Compliance, Joseph is responsible for managing the corporate compliance program at PlanSource. Joseph has developed the program with a focus on the OIG’s Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program. Joseph’s responsibilities include: compliance and privacy training, policy and procedures, investigations, policy/law interpretation, privacy program and audits.  Prior to joining PlanSource, Joseph served in various compliance roles. Most recently, Joseph served as Corporate Compliance Manager at Health Plan Services, a third party administrator in Tampa, Florida. Prior to HealthPlan Services, Joseph maintained various compliance roles at WellCare Health Plans in Tampa, Florida. During his tenure at these organizations, Joseph developed and/or managed numerous components of the compliance programs including sales and marketing oversight, regulatory affairs, investigations, audits and vendor management.

Trish Wern is a Manager in Group Insurance Compliance at Prudential. Trish's primary responsibilities include Regulatory Enrollment Compliance, Privacy Compliance, Regulatory Forms Reviews and general compliance support for Onboarding Compliance functions. Trish has been with Group Insurance Compliance since June of 2010. Prior to joining Group Insurance Compliance, Trish was a Benefits Specialist at a large healthcare organization. Trish also served as a Compliance professional for 7 years in Prudential's Individual Life's Compliance Division and Enterprise Discontinued Business Solutions. Trish is co-chair of Prudential's Law, Compliance and Business Ethics Veterans Volunteer Group.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. Notify customer.service@limra.com. Cancellations received before January 11, 2017 will be refunded, less a $75 processing fee. Cancellations received from January 11, 2017 to January 25, 2017 will be refunded, less a $275 processing and administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after January 25, 2017.

In the event that a scheduled meeting or event is cancelled by LIMRA for any reason, LIMRA shall refund any conference registration fees that have been paid by the registrant. Under no circumstances, however, shall LIMRA be liable to the registrant for any other expenses including, but not limited to, airfare and hotel expenses incurred by the registrant.

Identify yourself as part of the LIMRA Enrollment Technology Strategy Seminar to receive the special group rate of $219 single/double plus applicable sales taxes. Reservation requests received after January 10, 2017 will be accepted based on room availability. The group rate will be offered three days prior and three days after the conference subject to availability of rooms at the time of your reservation.  Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card.

Please note that the hotel rates will go up after the cut-off date or when the meeting room block sells out, whichever comes first. Make your reservations early to be able to take advantage of our discounted rates.

Transportation Options 

Loews Royal Pacific Resort is located at Universal Orlando approximately 30-35 miles from the Orlando International Airport.

  • Mears Transportation offers shuttle service to/from the Orlando International Airport and Universal Orlando. Upon arrival, please proceed to the Ground Transportation area, located one level below baggage claim, and look for the Mears Transportation desk. After hours, you may reach a Mears Representative for assistance via the phone located at the desk. Mears also provides direct transportation from the front entrance of the hotel to the airport. Advance reservations are required, and can be arranged through the Mears desk each day from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., via phone at 407-423-5566 or visit the Mears website at www.mearstransportation.com
  • A cab is approximately $65 each way.
