President and Chief Executive Officer, Network for Excellence in Health Innovation
Susan Dentzer is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation, a not-for-profit organization that seeks intelligent ways to advance health and improve health care at sustainable costs. Dentzer previously served as senior policy adviser to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy focused on health and health care in the United States. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine) and serves on the academy’s Board on Population Health and Public Health Practice. She is also an elected member of the Council on Foreign Relations; a fellow of the National Academy of Social Insurance; and a fellow of the Hastings Center, a nonpartisan bioethics research institute. Dentzer is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Rescue Committee, a leading global humanitarian organization, the RAND Health Board of Advisors, and the March of Dimes advisory board.
Chief Medical Officer, Long Term Care Group (LTCG)
Dr. Stephen Holland serves as Chief Medical Officer for LTCG and brings more than 29 years of long-term care, life, and managed care leadership experience. As the clinical leader at LTCG, Dr. Holland has played an integral role in building the underwriting and claim capabilities of the country’s largest full service LTC and Life-LTC Insurance Administrator. Dr. Holland holds a Doctorate of Medicine from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate medical training in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington. He completed a fellowship in health care policy as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Washington, School of Medicine and received his Board Certification in Internal Medicine from the American College of Physicians.

Nicole Simpson, a board certified internal medicine physician, has over 10 years of medical experience, with specialized training in Internal and occupational medicine including industry training in occupational health with United Technologies, State of CT Department of Public Health, and Travelers Insurance Company. She joined MassMutual in 2008. Adding to this experience is Nicole’s Board Certification in Insurance Medicine in February 2014. Among other qualities, she is multi-disciplinary covering Life, DI and LTC. In addition to providing morbidity and mortality risk assessments and guidance for underwriters and MassMutual’s Medical Manuals, Nicole is a skilled trainer and has provided on-going education, training and mentoring for MassMutual underwriters and young professionals at the UCONN School of Medicine.
Chris Stehno works in Deloitte’s Advance Analytics practice. He has over 25 years of insurance and healthcare analytics experience and specializes in data augmentation, advanced analytics and their resulting business applications. Chris’s work includes consulting on the convergence of behavioral/lifestyle data with personal health/mortality results and on data augmentation and predictive modeling applications to augment underwriting and pricing decisions, to understand and predict the motivation factors behind customer purchase and change behavior decisions, and to enhance risk based sales, marketing and retention efforts. His clients include national and regional health plans, life and annuity insurance companies, state and federal entities including the Department of Defense and VA, and life sciences corporations.
Laura began her insurance medicine career at MetLife and then worked at Swiss Re before joining Gen Re in 1997. She has more than 20 years of insurance medicine experience in the areas of Life, Disability, Critical Illness, and Long-term care. Laura has served on the Program Committee and Continuing Medical Education Committee of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine. She completed her Family Practice Residency and Family Practice Board Certification in Brooklyn, NY and is also Board Certified in Insurance Medicine. Before entering insurance medicine, Laura practiced Family Medicine in White Plains, NY. She is a graduate of the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine.
