Highlights

This new world permits no time for complacency or nostalgia. With today’s uncertainties of inflation, market volatility, global unrest, and the latest COVID-19 variant, corporate forecasts have begun to build in allowances for new volatility.

At the same time, leaders across all business sectors should prepare to embrace a workforce fully set to rebound and a global economic landscape that — while evolving — will present huge opportunities for growth. That might sound counterintuitive, but there is a way to stay prepared while capitalizing on the unprecedented opportunities before us.

Consumer awareness and demand for security and financial protection have never been greater.  We must harness heightened risk awareness to narrow the protection gap. Against this backdrop of consumer uncertainty, it should be easier for our industry to convey our ultimate purpose – protection, security, and resilience building.

As an industry, we must push ahead with digital transformation and with investments in AI, mobile, and other technologies.

What are other opportunities to consider? Diversity, equity and inclusion as a business advantage; attracting youth to the industry; building new business models and systems; and partnering with Fintechs and other technology startups. The opportunities are unprecedented, even in these uncertain times.

LIMRA’s 2022 Annual Conference will take place at the Marriott Marquis in Chicago on October 16–18, 2022. We are excited to meet once again in person and feel the energy of a live event and we are even more enthusiastic about the opportunities before us.

Our program will feature forward-thinking executives from diverse industries. We will discuss key strategies in these areas of opportunities that will influence the future of our industry and the markets we serve, including: distribution and marketing, data and technology, talent imperatives, and other strategic issues within insurance, annuities, and worksite benefits.
