KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 6, 2009 – Robert Kerzner, president and CEO of LOMA, LIMRA and LL Global, and David Beynon, vice chairman of Asosiasi Asuransi Jiwa Indonesia (AAJI), have signed an agreement to jointly develop a continuing professional development (CPD) program for life insurance agents in Indonesia.

“I have always said that an educated, professional field force is a more effective field force,” said Robert Kerzner. “We are honored to have the opportunity to work with the AAJI to provide the vital skills and knowledge to agents throughout Indonesia that will help them become more successful.”

Currently, Indonesia does not have a CPD program for its agents. Beginning January 2010, all licensed agents in Indonesia will be required to take nine continuing education credit hours in order to remain active. In 2011 and 2012, this requirement will expand to 12 and 15 hours respectively.

The partnership between LIMRA/LOMA and AAJI will provide the curriculum and structure to offer the appropriate course work to agents consistent with the requirements of the Ministry of Finance, Indonesia’s regulating body.

“The introduction of Continuous Professional Development for Agents in Indonesia is an enormous step and is a real testament to the industry's commitment to raise professional standards,” said David Beynon. “We are delighted to have reached an agreement with LIMRA/LOMA to be the solution partner in this important development. LIMRA/LOMA's reputation as truly high quality institutions and their thoroughness and dedication to delivery, will ensure the success of this important development."

The program, scheduled to be launched in January 2010, will be a combination of e-learning and classroom courses designed to give agents education and knowledge in life insurance practices and regulations of Indonesia. All courses will be delivered in Bahasa Indonesia.
