WINDSOR, Conn., June 8, 2010—Barry Stowe, chief executive of Prudential Corporation Asia, will address more than 250 senior executives at the 18th annual Strategic Issues Conference (SIC) in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.

The conference theme “Back to Basics: Rebuilding on Core Values,” focuses on the challenges and opportunities facing the life insurance and financial services industries in Asia, following the most severe economic recession in modern history. The conference provides the most up-to-date research and industry knowledge to help companies rebuild towards a more prosperous future on the strength of their core values. It also offers its attendees the chance to learn from industry experts, as well as from their colleagues in an open, collaborative forum.

Over the last five years, bancassurance has experienced remarkable growth throughout the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to more than 35 percent of new premium in some countries in 2009. To better understand the complexity of the bancassurance channel, the SIC will feature a multi-perspective panel of insurance executives on effective bancassurance strategies, including issues surrounding structure of partnership, market identification, product development and distribution supervision. The panel will discuss best practices that can help companies successfully integrate bancassurance into their distribution strategy.

The SIC, which will be held on Sept. 26-28, is co-hosted by the Indonesia Life Insurance Association (AAJI), TANDIKA Learning Institute for Financial Services, LIMRA, and LOMA and provides an information sharing and collaborative forum for senior executives and other key staff at financial services companies operating in Asia. Every year this conference attracts more than 250 delegates from 20 different countries.
