WINDSOR, Conn., Feb. 7, 2012 — Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning may be in Disney World this week, but life insurance executives will be heading to Orlando, Fla. on April 23-25, 2012, to learn how to help their own teams win more business.

Opening the conference is Robert A. Kerzner, president and CEO of LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global, who will share his take on the current landscape of the insurance industry and the opportunities and challenges presented by the rapid changes in available technology.

“LIMRA’s research has revealed there is an enormous opportunity to help half of U.S. households attain the life insurance they say they need,” noted Kerzner. “Just like successful teams use their best players, companies need to leverage all of the resources available, including social media and mobile devices, to engage consumers directly and frequently in new and different ways.”

This year’s conference theme, “A World of Opportunities,” focuses on providing information and ideas to help life insurance industry professionals of all disciplines understand the issues facing the industry; learn about up-to-date, relevant research; and discover best practices about management, operations, and marketing. Attendees will hear from industry leaders and top practitioners, who will share their experiences and knowledge on topics such as product development, risk management, reinsurance and underwriting strategies, market trends, consumer research and recent regulatory activity.

In keeping with the theme, this year’s conference has added a global panel of industry leaders, who will explore and discuss the trends that are shaping the life insurance industry throughout the world. Moderated by Bradley M. Smith, FSA, MAAA, FLMI, chairman of Milliman, Inc, the panel includes: Victoria Bejarano de la Torre, president and CEO, MAPFRE Colombia Vida Seguros S.A.; Elisabetta Russo, fellow of the UK and Italian Institute of Actuaries and partner, Deloitte Consulting USA; and Norman R. Sorensen, chairman, International Advisory Council, Principal Financial Group.

The event, hosted by LIMRA, LOMA, ACLI, and the Society of Actuaries (SOA), attracts more than 500 life insurance industry professionals from companies across the globe seeking to gain insight on the latest industry developments and equip themselves with solutions to address the complex challenges they face every day.
