LIMRA and LOMA Host 3rd Annual Social Media for Financial Services Conference to Help Companies Achieve their Business Goals Using Social Media.

WINDSOR, Conn., May 30, 2012 — Miscalculating the value of social media can undermine the trust of stakeholders and lead to undesirable consequences. A recent LIMRA study found that while 8 in 10 insurance companies currently engage in social media, executives still struggle with how to best manage resources to leverage the maximum benefit from social media.

To help financial services companies navigate the constantly evolving social media landscape, LIMRA and LOMA have put together a comprehensive program that will provide the latest research, best practices and approaches for executives and industry professionals seeking to grow their business and expand their market share using the latest social media innovations and ideas. This year’s Social Media for Financial Services Conference will be held on Aug. 22-24, 2012, in Boston, MA.

Opening the three-day conference is Socialnomics author Erik Qualman, discussing how social media is changing the drivers of what products and services people purchase and what companies need to do to flourish in this new environment.

LinkedIn’s Jennifer Grazel, head of category development for financial services, healthcare and travel, and Google’s Glen Reardon, head of industry and financial services advertising, will also be speaking at what is quickly being recognized as one of the most important – and popular – conferences in the financial services industry.

This year, the conference will hold a special workshop, Social 101, providing an overview of social media marketing, multi-channel concepts and social media compliance issues. Workshops in sales, producer recruiting, compliance and operations, led by top practitioners and industry experts, will be offered throughout the conference.

Hosted by LIMRA and LOMA, the Social Media Conference for Financial Services has grown exponentially each year since it started in 2010. Drawing industry leaders from every segment of business representing 45 top companies, the conference has become the premier event to hear about the latest research and trends affecting the social media landscape, and learn the best strategies to successfully leverage social media into day-to-day business.
