WINDSOR, Conn., June 3, 2013 — Fernando Henrique Cardoso, president of Brazil from 1995 to 2003, will deliver the keynote address at the LIMRA-LOMA Latin American Conference in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, August 25-27, 2013.
“We are very excited to have President Cardoso address this year’s conference,” said Gary Aluise, senior vice president and managing director LIMRA-LOMA International Operations. “While he has been instrumental in Brazil’s success, President Cardoso is in touch with what will help all of Latin America.”
The 2013 conference theme is Let the Games Begin: Winning Strategies for the Future of Latin America, which alludes to not only the upcoming sporting events scheduled in Brazil, but also the importance of teamwork, dedication, and a well planned strategy to ensure a company’s successful and profitable future. Each year the conference provides the most up-to-date research and industry knowledge on market trends, consumer research and recent regulatory activity to an audience of key executives in financial services companies in the region. Industry leaders and top practitioners will share best practices on product development, distribution, and operations, offering attendees the chance to learn in an open, collaborative forum.
In addition to the keynote by Fernando Henrique Cardoso, the two-day event will feature speakers addressing a variety of other crucial strategic issues, including the challenges and opportunities in the retirement market, behavioral finance, alternative distribution and preventative healthcare. There will also be an interactive innovation panel with participants sharing their thoughts on the Latin American market and their vision of where it is headed in the future.
The annual conference, co-hosted by LIMRA and LOMA, is expected to attract as many as 500 top life insurance and financial services executives from Latin America.
