WINDSOR, Conn. February 26, 2019 — LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute (LIMRA SRI) data finds that only half of Americans feel financially secure about their retirement. Retirement leaders across the industry will gather at the 2019 Retirement Industry Conference to explore innovative ways to help consumers achieve greater retirement security.

The conference will focus on the latest market research, product development trends and innovative approaches to address the top challenges facing retirees and the industry as a whole. Attendees will join top retirement leaders and practitioners as they discuss best practices about management, operations, and marketing. Hosted jointly by the LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute and the Society of Actuaries (SOA), the event will take place in Baltimore, Maryland April 3–5, 2019.

Stephen Goss, chief actuary of the Social Security Administration, will speak about the current and future role of Social Security in retirement planning. Attendees will hear about the level of benefits the program currently provides and the challenges for financing these benefits in the future.

David Levenson, president and chief executive officer of LIMRA, LOMA, and LL Global Inc., will give the opening morning session at the conference. His presentation, The Lines Are Blurring: Key Retirement Trends Shaping Our Industry, will focus on significant trends that are converging and creating opportunities to help consumers achieve retirement security.

The LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute will also hold the conferment ceremony for new Fellow, Secure Retirement Institute (FSRI) designees at the conference. Nearly 500 industry professionals have completed the coursework on the entire retirement planning and income marketplace.

The 2019 Retirement Industry Conference will be held at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore and typically attracts more than 400 retirement professionals in product, marketing, distribution and strategy for both retail and institutional markets.
