Mark-Singleton.jpgWindsor, Conn., June 8, 2020 – LL Global, parent company for LIMRA, LOMA and Secure Retirement Institute, today announced Mark Singleton will be its new head of Industry Solutions and chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately.

Singleton has held leadership roles in the financial services industry and has more than 25 years of financial management, distribution and operational experience. Most recently, Singleton was president and chief executive officer (CEO) of 5Star Life Insurance Company, the life insurance carrier for the Armed Forces Benefit Association. As 5Star Life’s CEO, Singleton and his team developed a 5-year strategy to capitalize on new growth opportunities, which included new sales and marketing initiatives, resulting in more than $80 million in additional revenue and propelled 5Star Life to one of the top 20 issuers of group life insurance.

“We are excited to welcome Mark to LL Global where his wealth of experience and his financial acumen will be invaluable to our organization as we execute on the next phase of our long-term growth strategy,” said Gina Birchall, LLIF, J.D., chief operating officer, LL Global. “Mark’s breadth of knowledge and proven record of building state-of-the art marketing and sales strategies will help LL Global continue its long tradition of supporting its members through cost-effective, shared industry solutions and compelling convening programs.”

As head of LL Global’s industry solutions program, Singleton will work with members to identify new ideas to help address common issues, and build and execute the go-to-market strategies. He will also oversee the overall operations for LL Global’s conferences and meetings (both virtual and in-person), to ensure consistency and enhanced member value.

For more than 100 years, LL Global has developed industry shared solutions and hosted industry events — conferences, study groups, committees and webinars — to help its members address common challenges and stay informed of industry trends and best practices.

Singleton has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Baltimore. He became a certified public accountant (CPA) in the state of Maryland, and has earned LOMA’s designation of Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI). In 2019, Singleton also served as board chair for the Life Insurers Council, an LL Global forum for senior-level life insurance executives, primarily from small-to-medium sized companies.
