LIMRA and LOMA Launch Steering Committee to Plan the 2026 Canadian Annual Conference

WINDSOR, Conn., Feb.10, 2026 — LIMRA and LOMA today announced the formation of the steering committee that will lead the planning and development of the 2026 LIMRA and LOMA Canada Annual Conference, which will be held on May 20 in Toronto Canda.
Framed by the theme, Delivering Value in a Changing Landscape, the event will examine how the industry can strengthen trust, modernize distribution, and deliver meaningful value to Canadian families amid shifting market dynamics.
Matt Berman, president and chief executive officer, Foresters Financial and chair of the steering committee, will guide the strategic direction and content development for the industry‑leading event.
“Our industry is navigating a period of rapid transformation, shaped by evolving customer expectations and a shifting distribution landscape,” said Berman. “This year’s conference brings leaders together to discuss how insurers and advisors can keep delivering trusted, relevant value for Canadians.”
The 2026 steering committee brings together senior leaders from across Canada’s insurance and financial services sector:
- Thomas Juha, director, business strategy, RBC Insurance
- Louis Kerba, senior vice president, L&H market head – Canada & English Caribbeans, Swiss Re
- Jason (Jay) McMahon, regional vice president, PPI
- Déry Veilleux, senior director, strategy and analytics, iA Financial Group
Together, the committee will shape a program designed to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the Canadian market—including the widening protection gap, shifting consumer expectations, and the need for optimized distribution models that integrate technology with personalized advice.
