John Cai is the Regional Chief Executive responsible for the Group’s businesses operating in China, Vietnam and Taiwan. Mr. Cai is a director of various companies within the Group, including AIA Company Limited and AIA International Limited. He joined the Group in July 2009. Mr. Cai has over 27 years’ experience in the insurance industry, both in Asia and the United States. Prior to becoming Regional Chief Executive, since 2009, he was Chief Executive Officer of AIA China, which became AIA’s second-largest and fastest growing business during his tenure.

Before joining AIA, Mr. Cai was Chief Executive Officer at AXA Hong Kong, having originally been appointed Chief Agency Officer in 2003. Mr. Cai graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1989. He is also a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Certified Financial Planner.

John has more than four decades of experience in the financial services business, including 35 years as a Managing Partner and company executive for New York Life. As a Managing Partner he grew a new, young agency from almost nothing into one of the premier agencies in the world, using the foundation for what would later become the industry-renowned 25 Point System. In 2015 John was appointed Executive Director of Seguros Monterrey New York Life where he was charged with coaching top company executives, leading the Project Retention and MDRT Program, and managing the Agency Distribution Channel. Under his leadership, SMNYL saw their retention rates increase by 75 percent, their number of MDRT Agents and Aspirants from 432 to 624 (advancing SMNYL from the 33rd position to the 14th position in MDRT Membership), and their agency sales increased by 33%. In 2013 John was inducted into the GAMA International Hall of Fame, the highest honor in the Financial Services Industry, and in 2016 he established Baier Consulting International LLC. to foster “Exponential Growth Through Proven Systems. " John is the author of the book “The 25 Point System for Sales Accountability and Success in any Sales Field.” He is also the Chairman of 25 Point Systems Inc, featuring the mobile app Tier 25 of his 25 Point System.

Chris Au started his career as an agent in 1988, immediately after graduation from the University of Hong Kong.  Throughout the course of his agent career he received a variety of top honors including the Young Distinguished Salesman Award, MDRT, Top Case producer, Top AUM, and Top EB producer, among many others. In 1996 he shifted his career to move from agency to staff, and in 1999 he became CAO of New York Life Hong Kong. He then worked as CAO for several other companies in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Thailand, and prior to accepting his current role he served as the Regional CAO of AIA Group. Chris’ professional designations include the LLIF, CIAM, FLMI and LUTCF as well as an Executive MBA.

Mr. Chen Hongyou entered Ping An in 1997, becoming the deputy general manager of the Beijing Branch in 2012. The following year he was transferred to the Shanghai Branch where he took on the role of head of sales for individual insurance. In this role he lead a full sales channel transformation, including a shift to the Online-to-Offline (O2O) customer management model. Under his leadership, the Shanghai Branch's individual insurance achieved substantial growth at paces far above the market average, making it the Shanghai life insurance market leader for many years. In 2017 he assumed his current role of Sales Head, First Regional Area at the Shanghai Branch, and continues to drives revenue and growth with innovation at the core of their strategy.

Since 2012 he has held the position of Senior Vice President for AVIVA-COFCO Life Insurance Co., Ltd., where he oversees their agency, broker, and bancassurance lines of business. Prior to this, his other former positions included Deputy Chief Actuary of ACL from 2003 to 2004; Vice President, Head of Group from 2005 to 2010, and Senior Vice President, CMO from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Chang attended NanKai University where he earned a Master of Insurance Actuarial as well as a PhD in Risk Management and Insurance.

David Levenson is responsible for leading one of the world’s largest associations of life insurance and financial services companies, representing 700 member organizations across 70 countries. Most recently, Levenson was a principal at Edward Jones and served on its management committee from 2015–2018. He was responsible for all products distributed through its network of 17,000 advisors in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to 2012, Levenson was president of wealth management at The Hartford Financial Services Group, responsible for the firm’s individual annuity, individual life, mutual fund, and retirement plan businesses. He also served as president and CEO of Hartford Life, KK in Tokyo, where he was responsible for leading the largest annuity provider in Japan.

Levenson holds his Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, his Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a doctorate in business administration from The School of International Corporate Strategy at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2007 he co-founded Xiangrikui Insurance, Funaodai Insurance and Xiaobai Insurance, and following the success of these businesses he used his internet insurance industry experiences to found TopMDRT in 2015. TopMDRT now empowers agents to expand their online business through social media and micro-websites, and in just three short years it became the number one Chinese online self-insurer, with more than 5 million users and owning over 60% of market share.

In 2012 he founded GM Financial Service which he has built on his belief in "cultivating talents, developing teams". Using a rigorous and meticulous management style he has developed many industry elites across the Taiwan Strait, all whom embrace the values of “Respect, Integrity, Benefit Others and Thankfulness”. He is strongly dedicated to the idea of continuous education, and supports multiple public welfare and charity programs throughout the country. Mr. Lin has written two books, "Elite Team" and "Weightlifting".

Graduated from Tufts University with a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He used to work for Telenav Inc. in Silicon Valley, as a senior software engineer. He led the development team on big data recommendation system to provide the LBS modeling support. He returned to China in May, 2016 to found Leapstack, which focuses on healthcare insurance anti-fraud services. Based on big data technologies, AI algorithms and comprehensive system solutions, Leapstack owns the most advanced anti-fraud services for healthcare insurance and long-term care insurance products in China. Currently, Leapstack has provided services for multiple clients, including China Life, PICC, Pingan and etc. With the hands-on experience on big data technologies, anti-fraud services from Silicon Valley, Leapstack is capable of helping the insurance companies with the claim funds control, lowering the claims expense, increasing their services quality, markets competence and markets share.

In 2014 he moved to Indonesia after Sumitomo acquired shares in BNI Life, a subsidiary of PT Bank Negara Indonesia. He returned back to Japan in 2016, and currently serves as the Assistant General Manager of the Marketing Planning Department. Sam received his MBA from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee.

Mr. Yang has 20 years of experience in IT system design and management, 15 of which have been spent working with the life insurance industry. He is a registered Information Safety Professional (CISP) and his experiences have given him a rich knowledge of infrastructure and database development, maintenance, disaster recovery, security, algorithms, and data analysis. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Yan has worked as the main research and development personnel for multiple information security products and systems that received certification from the Central Protecting Secret Commission Office, was the Director of the Information Center Relocation project in 2007, and the Chief Commander of the Life Insurance Core Business System Upgrade project in 2009. In 2012 he spoke at the National Architecture Conference, and he has published papers in biomedical engineering, information security, economics, and life insurance.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations and refund requests must be received in writing. These requests carry a $100.00 U.S. administrative charge. Full refunds minus the administrative fee will be granted on written requests received no later than ten business days before the meeting. No refunds will be granted if the request is received within ten business days of the meeting. If for any reason a meeting is cancelled, the Conference Organizers will refund the total registration fee. However, the Conference Organizers will not be responsible for any travel, hotel accommodations or other costs incurred. Cancellation requests should be submitted to meetings@loma.org.
