Hugh Terry is an experienced insurance professional with more than 20 years’ experience in the Asia Pacific region covering insurance companies, business consulting, and successful set-ups and exits from his own businesses. As the Founder of The Digital Insurer, the world’s largest knowledge community of more than 30,000 professionals interested in working together to accelerate the digital transformation of insurance, Hugh’s personal business objective is to help insurance and technology companies create and execute innovative business development strategies. Central to this is to anticipate and leverage trends in digital technologies, as these are having a profound impact on existing business models as well as opening up new opportunities. Hugh is an actuary by profession.
Chief Executive Officer, Malaysian Insurance Institute
Shalini is the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), the leading professional body and education institution for the Malaysian insurance industry. MII is highly respected as a regional centre offering an extensive range of professional qualifications, certifications, and training programmes for insurance professionals. MII also administers the licensing examinations for intermediaries namely insurance agents, brokers, loss adjusters and financial planners.
Shalini also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the ASEAN Insurance Training & Research Institute (AITRI) in view of MII being given the mandate as the Secretariat of AITRI. AITRI was established by the ASEAN Insurance Regulators and serves as a regional centre for insurance education and research focusing on capacity building of regulators and supervisors in the region.
Prior to joining MII, Shalini has over 20 years’ experience in various sectors within the financial services industry.
Shalini holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Malaya, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London and has completed the Certificate of Legal Practice.

Sara Roberts is Founder and Principle Consultant at Kettlewell Consulting.
She has an extensive international career in Human Resources, working with
large corporations across industry sectors (BioTech, Financial Services,
Consumer, Technology) and regions including Asia, US and Europe. She currently
partners with CEOs, Boards and diverse senior leadership teams to drive
business aligned culture, organization and people strategies and practices
(including Talent, Learning, D&I) with a strong focus on driving
transformation and creating an inclusive culture and coaching.
