WINDSOR, Conn., Oct. 19, 2011 — Three industry leaders will share their expertise on successful bancassurance practices during an executive panel at the inaugural LIMRA/LOMA Bancassurance Conference, which will be held on Nov. 16-18, 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand.

"We are pleased to have such distinguished and well-respected industry leaders provide their knowledge, experience and insight about the issues surrounding bancassurance," Gary Aluise, senior vice president and managing director, LIMRA/LOMA International Operations. "As the fastest growing distribution channel in Asia, it is critical that our members understand the distinct characteristics of this channel and the challenges to integrating bancassurance into their existing distribution. These experts have practical experience and knowledge that will offer attendees concrete examples about how to be successful in this market."

Moderated by Aluise, the panel consists of Vernon Heritage, managing director and regional head of Affinity Business, Marsh Asia; Kenny Jiamanukoonkit, senior executive vice president & chief distribution officer, Siam Samsung Life Insurance; and Bert Paterson, president director, Sun Life Indonesia, PT Asuransi. The three panelists will discuss relevance and suitability of various bancassurance models, developing effective working relationships between bank and insurer personnel, determining product ranges, and creating successful sales and marketing approaches. This panel is expected to be one of the most compelling sessions during the conference.

The conference theme, "Growing Opportunity into Profitability," focuses on providing information and ideas to help life insurance industry professionals understand the issues surrounding bancassurance; learning about up-to-date, relevant research; and discovering best practices about management, operations and marketing. Attendees will hear from industry leaders and top practitioners, who will share their experiences and knowledge on topics such as product development, sales models, the regulatory environment and building successful partnerships with banking institutions.
