WINDSOR, Conn., May 23, 2014 — Jafor Iqbal, associate managing director, LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute Research, will be a panelist during the Innovations in Retirement Income Strategies general session at this year's DCIO Market Forum.

Iqbal leads the LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute's retirement income initiatives, studying retirees and the role of financial advisors in retirement income planning.  His leadership and focus in retirement income has resulted in the publishing LIMRA's 2009 and 2012 edition of The Retirement Income Reference Book, a complete mapping of the retirement income marketplace, including retirement risks and issues faced by consumers and advisors, as well as the annual LIMRA Retirement Income Fact Book.

Prior to joining LIMRA in 2009, Iqbal was director of product management at Fidelity Investments. In this capacity, he led initiatives to develop and maintain annuity products and services for pre-retirees and retirees.  During his 12-year career at Fidelity Investments, Iqbal also served as senior marketing research manager, where he conducted customer and segmentation analysis and monitored products and trends in the retirement industry to help senior management formulate strategies.

The DCIO Market Forum offers insights and best practices from industry leaders on top industry issues including: effective product positioning and plan design, trends in distribution, regulatory changes and their impact on the DCIO market.
