2017 Big Data Analytics Conference Draws Leaders in Data Analytics to Learn About New Trends and Best Practices

Windsor, Conn., May 9, 2017 – According to LIMRA research, nearly 9 in 10 financial services companies have or are exploring the use of big data analytics to streamline automated underwriting processes. The study finds approximately 4 in 5 companies report success with their automated underwriting goals.

Data experts are seeking new methods and strategies to keep up with more efficient and economical methods of underwriting. Many will attend the 2017 Big Data Analytics Conference in Annapolis, Maryland, to learn about trends in big data, predictive analytics, and advanced analytics. The conference will be held June 19-21, 2017.

Shankar Vedantam, National Public Radio’s science correspondent and host of the network’s podcast, Hidden Brain, will open the conference. In his presentation, Vedantam will explore how our minds process information and data, and the importance of keeping the “hidden brain” front and center as we design data systems.

Deloitte Consulting’s chief data scientist, James Guszcza, Ph.D., will kick off the second day of the conference. Guszcza will explore how understanding human psychology will help in the design of artificial intelligence (AI) systems that extend human capabilities, leading to better choices.

Leaders who champion the use of analytics in the insurance and financial services business will gather to network and share ideas around the future of analytics, with sessions on Cloud, AI, IoT, and Edge computing. The conference will include presentations from financial services companies, sharing best practices and lessons learned. It draws professionals in the areas of automated underwriting, actuarial and statistical analysis, and data science together to bridge the gap between big data and efficient and cost effective business decisions.

Members of the press are welcome to attend the event at no cost. Please email media contacts below for more details.
