WINDSOR, Conn., April 18, 2019 – LIMRA is now accepting nominations for its 2019 Technology Rising Stars contest. The contest will recognize 10 professionals under 40 who demonstrate leadership in the technological space within LIMRA member companies.

“Technology is having a profound impact on the financial services area. From blockchain and InsurTech to cybersecurity and big data, technology is changing the landscape of our industry,” said Gina Birchall, chief operating officer, LIMRA and LOMA. “In recognition of this, we are looking to acknowledge young leaders who have implemented new and creative business solutions, using technology at our member companies, to help advance the industry.”

LIMRA established the Rising Stars program in 2016 as part of its 100th Anniversary celebration. The contest was designed to recognize the industry’s best and brightest professionals under 40 who demonstrate excellence in each of the four categories (Distribution, Retirement, Technology and Marketing & Communications).

To select the winners, a panel of judges will rate each nomination on a scale of 1 to 5; the 10 nominations with the highest scores will be the winners. As part of the judging process, LIMRA is requiring each submission to include three detailed examples of why the candidate exemplifies a LIMRA Rising Star.

Home office employees of LIMRA member companies who are under 40 years old and have demonstrated innovative thinking and leveraged technology to address our members’ business challenges are eligible for this contest. Prior Rising Star winners are ineligible. All submissions should include a high-resolution photo (min. 300 dpi). To nominate a leader, please visit www.limra.com/RSNominate/, and fill out the form.

“LIMRA is looking for motivated individuals who demonstrate smart and original ways to utilize technology to better perform their day-to-day jobs or improve their company’s business strategy,” said Birchall. “If this describes one of your colleagues, I encourage you to nominate them.”

The deadline for nominations is May 17, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. EDT. To learn more about the program or view prior Rising Star winners, please visit LIMRA’s Rising Stars Program.
