WINDSOR, Conn., July 29, 2019 – Top industry executives will explore how to navigate the future of the benefits industry at LIMRA’s 2019 Group & Worksite Benefits Conference. The event will be held on Sept. 10-12 at the Newport Marriott in Rhode Island.

The conference will focus on key industry issues, including factors driving change in the benefits market. Executives and professionals in the workplace benefits area are encouraged to attend and network at this collaborative event.

Tom Wamberg, chief executive officer, Wamberg Genomic Advisors, will open the conference by talking about how genomic developments will change every long-held belief of the life and health insurance industries. He’ll discuss genomic products and their potential risks, rewards and regulations.

The following day, these industry leaders will share their thoughts on today’s most important topics in the workplace space:

Later in the day, Travis Mills, founder of the Travis Mills Foundation, will host a session titled, “Never Give Up; Never Quit.” Mills was a U.S. Army staff sergeant with the 82nd Airborne when he was critically injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device while on patrol, losing portions of both legs and both arms. He is one of only five service members from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive quadruple amputee injuries. In September 2013, Mills founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization, formed to benefit and assist wounded veterans.

On the final day of the conference, LIMRA executives—Anita Potter, assistant vice president, Market Research; and  InAh Chambers, director, Member Relations & Sales—will discuss how the evolution of the regulatory environment and competitive landscape are impacting the workplace benefits market. In addition, the two will host an interactive discussion around topics including the regulatory environment, consolidation, technology, changing demographics of the workplace and alternative distribution models.

The 2019 Group & Worksite Benefits Conference attracts industry professionals responsible for distribution and marketing of group and worksite/voluntary benefits, including life, disability, dental, vision, critical illness and accident, as well as other supplemental health products.

Members of the press are welcome to attend the event at no cost. Please email media contacts below for more details. For more information and to register online, visit: 2019 Group & Worksite Benefits Conference.
