LL Global Accepting Nominations for the 2020 Robert A. Kerzner Scholarship

WINDSOR, Conn. March 1, 2020—LL Global, the parent company for LIMRA, LOMA, and Secure Retirement Institute® (SRITM), today announced that it is accepting nominations for the 2020 the Robert A. Kerzner Scholarship.
The Robert A. Kerzner Scholarship program was established to honor Robert Kerzner for his contributions to the insurance industry and his years of service as CEO of LIMRA, LOMA, and LL Global. In its second year, the scholarship is designed to support the continuing education and professional development of individuals working in the life insurance, disability insurance, worksite benefits, and/or health insurance industry or in retirement services.
“Throughout his career, Bob was a strong advocate for continuous learning and professional development. He believed educating employees was a key differentiator that led to the success of a company,” said Gina Birchall, chief operating officer, LL Global, LIMRA, LOMA and SRI. “The LL Global Board of Directors established this scholarship program to honor Bob’s 14 years of service to LL Global and his decades-long commitment to our industry.”
Nominations for the 2020 Robert A. Kerzner Scholarship will be accepted March 1 – May 31, 2020. Individuals employed in the life insurance, disability insurance, worksite benefits and/or health insurance industry or in retirement services are eligible to participate. The scholarship will fund the following professional development courses offered by LL Global:
- The courses required to complete the Fellow, Life Management Institute designation program
- The courses required to complete the Fellow, Secure Retirement Institute designation
Bob Kerzner led LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global as president and CEO from 2004 until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2018. From the start Bob was a change agent — rebuilding and refocusing LIMRA and strengthening its financial health. Over the 14 years as CEO, Bob led the merger of LIMRA and LOMA and was instrumental in establishing the Secure Retirement Institute. Both initiatives bolstered the organization’s relevancy and value to the members.
“As our industry faces incredible change and disruption, the need for well-informed, knowledgeable workers is critical to the long-term success of our members and the industry,” said Birchall. “Bob spent the last part of his career championing this kind of investment in our people. Our organization is on stronger footing and positioned for the future because of Bob’s leadership, vision and commitment,” said Birchall. “This scholarship is just a small way to demonstrate our gratitude.”
