WINDSOR, Conn., May 18, 2020 – LL Global, the parent company of LIMRA, LOMA and Secure Retirement Institute^® (SRI^TM), today announced Tamu McCreary as its new corporate vice president of conference and committee strategy effective immediately. In this role, she will oversee all facets of LL Global’s North American convening function and consult on developing strategies for bringing people together in key global markets.

“One of our core functions as a trade association — that is highly valued by our members — is to bring financial services companies together to discuss and address common industry challenges,” said Gina Birchall, LLIF, J.D., chief operating officer, LL Global. “At a time when connecting with each other is critical yet challenging, we believe Tamu’s extensive experience, creativity and knowledge will continue the high standards our members have come to expect while exploring ways to enhance LL Global’s conference and committee programs for the future.”

As head of LL Global’s convening functions, McCreary will be responsible for developing and implementing a holistic strategy to bring greater member value and engagement for more than a dozen conferences, as well as approximately 120 committees, study groups and working groups LL Global hosts. She will guide the efforts to introduce innovative approaches to enrich the attendee experience at current LIMRA, LOMA, and SRI events, and advise on long-term development of future events, solutions and experiences.

For more than 100 years, LL Global has brought the industry together through opportunities such as conferences, study groups and committees, to help its members stay informed of industry trends and best practices, and build industrywide relationships to increase their business acumen, further their companies’ business goals and advance their careers.

Prior to joining LL Global, McCreary was director of Gartner’s conference program, managing more than 100 events annually. In this capacity, she oversaw the conference budget and timeline, aligning resources and priorities to the enterprise’s strategic vision. She also spent nearly 20 years at Jackson National Life Distributors, serving in various roles of increasing responsibility, culminating as vice president of conference planning and strategy.  

McCreary has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and holds Series 6 and 26 FINRA licenses.
