The 2025 Protected Retirement and Income Planning (PRIP) research study, conducted by IPSOS, is the only study of its kind that simultaneously surveys consumers and financial professionals.
America is in the middle of a historic demographic shift, which we call Peak 65, with more than 4.1 million Americans turning 65 each year through 2027. What used to be 10,000 over the past decade is now over 11,200 every day, and 2025 is the peak of Peak 65. A concerning trend is emerging as a significant portion of the Peak 65 generation lacks sufficient protected income, putting them at risk of outliving their savings.
The 2025 Protected Retirement Income and Planning (PRIP) study is an annual study that exams the rapidly changing retirement planning landscape, behavioral shifts and attitudes towards retirement income and planning strategies, and the emerging role of annuities to protect retirement portfolios. In its seventh year, PRIP is the only research of its kind that surveys both consumers and financial professionals simultaneously.
