Isabel Aguilera is a renowned specialist in success strategies for developing competitive, sustainable leadership. A regular speaker at a number of events, she has proven experience in creating unique business models following various company mergers and acquisitions.

She is President of the University of Seville’s Social Council, associate professor at ESADE and at Deusto Business School, as well as the founder of the Isabel Aguilera Consultoría Empresarial (business consultancy) and takes part in several entrepreneurial projects.

Life insurance specialist, Gary Bennett has over 33 years´ experience in the industry; working for a number of international companies in Australia, Asia and the US. Gary currently heads Hong Kong based North Star Consulting, which provides high level strategic advice and operational support to life insurance companies, technology businesses and organizations entering or exiting Asia, with particular strength in interim management, M&As, new business set ups, restructuring, distribution, products, marketing leadership.

During his more than 20 years in Asia, Gary was CEO Asia of New York Life International where he oversaw the company´s fully-owned and JV operations in the region. Before taking on that position, he was Executive Vice President and Greater China CEO where he was responsible for setting the vision and framework for the strategy of the operations and business activities in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. From 2005 to 2009, Gary led Max New York Insurance in India as Managing Director and CEO. Under his leadership, a wide distribution network of more than 500 offices across 250 cities in was established. Gary began his career with New York Life International in 2004 when he was appointed President and CEO of the company´s Hong Kong operation.

Ms. Carroll is responsible for the coordination of all market and consumer research for Swiss Re in North America, including predictive modeling, behavioral economics and other Big Data initiatives. She is also head of Swiss Re's New Solutions Group, which works to minimize the difference between the amount of life insurance people carry, and the amount of insurance they need to sustain surviving loved ones after they pass away – an opportunity that measures $7 trillion in Latin America and $21 trillion in the US and Canada. To do this, they are connecting insurers to new distribution channels and developing solutions and tools that improve the consumer experience. Prior to this role, she has served as Data Champion for Swiss Re North America, with responsibility for quality and accessibility of reinsurance risk data across all functional areas.

Augusto has over 30 years of experience in actuarial and management roles across the insurance industry, including actuarial consulting firms, insurance and reinsurance companies. He joined SwissRe as the Head of Life & Health Continental Europe in March 2021, responsible for the business in Continental Europe plus Israel and Turkey.

Augusto leads a team of seven Market Units based in Switzerland, Munich, Paris, Tel Aviv, Copenhagen, Bratislava, Milan and Madrid. His remit covers the whole reinsurance value chain including medical product development, medical underwriting, costing, and claims, for traditional reinsurance and capital management solutions. Augusto reports to the CEO of Life & Health Reinsurance.

Prior to the change, Augusto worked at Munich Re for almost 15 years, where he held the position of CEO Life & Health - Southern Europe & Latin America, responsible for Reinsurance business in Italy, Malta, Spain, Portugal, and all countries in Latin America from 2011-2021. In 2006 he was appointed CEO of Munich Re in Chile and Regional Life Manager in South America (w/o Brazil). For over 10 years he was a Chairman of E+Med, a unique tele-underwriting service based in Barcelona dedicated to speeding-up turnaround times, increasing sales, and enhancing customer satisfaction levels at every stage of your new business process for life insurance.

He has been devoted to fostering innovation within the industry, promoting and funding an Accelerator of technological start-ups aimed to bring innovation to the insurance industry.

In 2015 Augusto co-founded MundiLab, an insurance tech acceleration programme, designed to facilitate the go-to-market of start-ups with innovative solutions for the insurance and reinsurance industries, where he was also a Board member.

Robert DiCianni oversees all the operations where Pan-American Life has a presence in the Caribbean and Latin America, and is responsible for driving growth in the corporation through the design and implementation of strategies and policies pertaining to sales, operations, and human resources. Mr. DiCianni has almost 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has extensive experience in local, regional, and home office roles. He has been a CEO of insurance companies in three different countries in Central and South America and Mexico, with diverse experiences ranging from starting a green field operation to successfully managing a turnaround situation. Prior to joining Pan-American Life, Mr. DiCianni served as Vice President with MetLife International, managing MetLife’s corporate business throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining MetLife, Mr. DiCianni was with Alico/AIG for over 20 years, where he had a track record of consistently delivering profitable growth. He had extensive experience in group underwriting, TCN/Expatriate business, and Multinational Pooling before concentrating in the Latin America region.

Hernán is responsible for the LIMRA Research Program in Latin America. He specializes in market research and development of distribution, communication and marketing tools. Previously, he was Deputy Director of LIMRA Operations for Latin America for 8 years, during which time he designed strategic contents in distribution and marketing for the associated companies, and carried out consulting activities in human resources, recruitment, selection and training. Karl Ricanek Jr. is a Full Professor at University of North Carolina Wilmington in the Computer Science Department, and the founder and director of the Face Aging Group Research Lab (www.FaceAgingGroup.com) where he has been the primary project lead on more than $1​8 Million USD in Department of Defense and intelligence funded research since 2003. His current area of research is focused in developing algorithms for modeling age-progression for the mitigation of acute degradation of face recognition systems due to aging. He is also involved in research for robust facial analytics where he holds two US patents. He has extensive research background in pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and machine and computer vision. Prof. Ricanek is a serial entrepreneur developing businesses around the new uses of biometrics and identity. His latest company, Lapetus Solutions, is poised to revolutionize financial services, life cycle event, and health.

Mario joined Prudential Seguros México in April 2019 as Chairman and CEO of Prudential Insurance Mexico, reporting directly to Regional President LATAM. Prior to joining Prudential Insurance Mexico, he was the CEO of GNP Seguros during the previous 4 years. During that period, he led GNP Seguros to become the largest insurer in Mexico. In parallel to being GNP´s CEO, he was elected by his peers in the Insurance sector, as the President of the Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions (AMIS), from 2014 to 2017.

Prior to joining GNP Seguros, Mario worked for 15 years at Seguros Monterrey New York Life where he was initially the Executive Director of Operations, then became the Executive Director of Distribution, and finally was promoted to CEO and Chairman of Seguros Monterrey New York Life and Chairman of Fianzas Monterrey. He has a degree in Economics from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IPADE, School of Business in Mexico.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received before September 30, 2016, will be refunded, less a $75 processing fee. Cancellations received from September 30, 2016, to October 14, 2016, will be refunded, less a $275 processing and administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after October 14, 2016. In the event that a scheduled meeting or event is cancelled by LIMRA/LOMA for any reason, LIMRA/LOMA shall refund any conference registration fees that have been paid by the registrant. Under no circumstances, however, shall LIMRA/LOMA be liable to the registrant for any other expenses including, but not limited to, airfare and hotel expenses incurred by the registrant.
