China Life and LIMRA International Form Strategic Alliance

Windsor, CT, and Beijing, January 31, 2006 — China Life Insurance Company, Ltd., and LIMRA International have signed a multiyear agreement to work together on a broad range of strategic projects to advance China Life as a domestic and international competitor.

China Life and LIMRA will work together on training and development, management consulting, business quality management, distribution channel innovation, client relationship management (CRM), and agent recruiting and selection.

Mr. Wu Yan, president of China Life Insurance Company Limited, and Mr. Robert Kerzner, president and chief executive officer of LIMRA, announced the special agreement at a signing ceremony in Beijing on Jan. 20.

"This agreement will allow our organizations to work together more efficiently and cost-effectively," Mr. Yan said at the signing ceremony. "It will be a great advantage to both of us."

"We are honored to enter into this strategic agreement," said Kerzner. "It is important to both organizations — an agreement that will bring value to all of us as China Life builds on a strong foundation to develop into an internationally competitive insurer."

Since 2000, China Life has been using LIMRA training and designation programs, including the Chartered Insurance Agency Manager (CIAM) and Curriculum Design and Instructional Skills Seminar (CDIS), to improve the professionalism of its life insurance sales force. In 2005, China Life recognized top performers in its Shanghai sales force with the LIMRA-sponsored International Quality Award (IQA) and International Award for Productivity (IAP) to reward business quality and ethics.
