WINDSOR, Conn., May 12, 2014 — David Plouffe, "architect" of President Barack Obama's two presidential victories and former senior advisor to the President, will deliver the keynote address at LIMRA's Annual Conference, which will be held Oct. 26-28, in New York, NY.

Plouffe has won acclaim for blazing a new trail in political campaign management.  Author of The New York Times   best seller, "The Audacity to Win: The Inside Story and Lessons of Barack Obama's Historic Victory,"   President Obama called him "the unsung hero of this [2008] campaign."

"We are pleased to have David Plouffe address LIMRA's 2014 Annual Conference," said Robert A. Kerzner, president and CEO of LIMRA, LOMA, LL Global. "He pioneered the use of technology and big data to best manage campaign resources to identify and reach the voters who were most likely to be influenced.  The timing of his speech is perfect as our member companies are in the process of using big data to more effectively reach consumers."

The 2014 Annual Conference theme, "The Leadership Challenge: Connecting in a Distracted World," focuses on what organizations need to do to successfully connect with consumers despite all of the competing distractions. This event provides a unique opportunity for attendees to share their experience and knowledge with their colleagues and counterparts and gain strategic insights from industry experts on issues like distribution, product development, regulation and emerging markets.

The 2014 Annual Conference program will also feature an Executive Viewpoint panel where industry leaders will discuss strategies to overcome the challenges facing their companies and industry at large.  Moderated by Kerzner, the panelists include: Deanna M. Mulligan, president and chief executive officer, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America; William J. Wheeler, president, Americas, MetLife, Inc.; Larry D.
