WINDSOR, Conn., April 17, 2014 — LIMRA and LOMA are pleased to announce that UP! Your Service Founder and Chairman Ron Kaufman will give the opening keynote address at the 2014 Strategic Issues Conference being held on June 18-20, 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan.

"With the growing competitive market in Asia and the expanding influence of the Internet and social media, consumers have access to more information and choices on where they spend their money, " said Ian Watts, senior vice president and managing director, International Operations at LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global.  "LIMRA's surveys of industry executives indicate an increasing awareness that companies need to improve the customer experience to remain relevant with today's consumers.  That's why we are so pleased to have Ron Kaufman address our conference.  As one of the leading customer service experts, he can share powerful insights and global best practices with our members, enabling them to gain a sustainable advantage through service."

Considered the preeminent industry event in the Asia-Pacific region, the 2014 SIC will include sessions that revolve around the theme "Lighting a Path to Success." Featured speakers include: Les Forrest, MetLife's regional head of agency in Asia, who will discuss ways to improve agency productivity; and Margaret Chiu, regional HR director Asia Pacific Aviva, who will share her experiences and regional best practices on talent acquisition and development.

New research findings from an unprecedented, multi-country study will be unveiled at the conference by Swiss Re executives Marianne Gilchrist, director of Health Solutions, Reinsurance Client Markets Asia and Rod Shay, head of Distribution Solutions, Asia.  Swiss Re and LIMRA jointly conducted the study on consumer attitudes and buying habits of insurance products. The findings will help insurance companies build opportunity profiles, identifying the attitudinal characteristics that are most likely to motivate inexperienced consumers to respond positively to the concept of insurance.   The study will also provide insight to companies, allowing them to appropriately target consumer segments, as well as leverage different product features and distribution channels.

Co-hosted by LIMRA and LOMA, the Strategic Issues Conference typically attracts more than 200 industry leaders from throughout Asia seeking to identify success strategies in today's economy.
