WINDSOR, Conn., Dec. 11, 2014 — LIMRA today announced Judy Zaiken, CLU, ChFC, has joined the organization as corporate vice president and research director for LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute research.

“Judy’s leadership and creativity will help us to continue the extraordinary work the LIMRA Secure Retirement Research division has accomplished over the past year,” said Alison Salka, Ph.D., senior vice president and director of LIMRA research. “The Institute’s goal is to spur innovation and broaden industry collaboration, and Judy’s diverse skill set will go a long way toward helping us to continue realizing that goal.”

Zaiken will be responsible for the development and execution of LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute’s research agenda, which covers both the institutional and retail sectors. Recent research has included insights and trends in participant savings, sales benchmark studies, plan sponsor and advisor surveys, market segment studies, and strategic white papers designed to increase the understanding of key issues and trends.

Prior to joining LIMRA in 2014, Zaiken was responsible for annuity product strategy and business development at MassMutual Financial Group.  She was also head of market research for MassMutual’s Retirement Income division and directed its customer research, lead generation, and market analytics team. Zaiken’s specialty was applying keen market and consumer understanding to the design, packaging, and distribution strategies of insurance-based savings and income products. In addition, Zaiken shares the ownership of a product patent.

Zaiken holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Framingham State University and a Master of Business Administration from Western New England University.
