Industry Leaders to Gather in Toronto to Explore Today’s Trends, Issues
WINDSOR, Conn., April 11, 2016—Canadian life insurance executives and professionals plan to gather in Toronto on May 17, for the LIMRA LOMA 2016 Canada Annual Conference to discuss the industry’s most pressing matters.
“The conference will be a wonderful opportunity for industry professionals to assess and strategize for the current chaotic and rapidly changing business state that has become the new normal,” said Brent Lemanski, assistant vice president and executive director, LIMRA and LOMA Canada.
This year’s conference, which has the theme: “The VUCA World: Thriving in Disruption,” will address the top issues for industry executives, including the global economy, regulation, omnichannel distribution and reaching hyper-distracted clients. VUCA is a military-derived acronym that stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
Among this year’s speakers is Pat Leary, corporate vice president of distribution research for LIMRA, who will highlight new LIMRA research conducted across the U.S. and Canada that shows what organizations must do to align their strategies and connect today's — and tomorrow's — consumer with the advice they want and need.
Other general session speakers will include Paul Kessler, founder and managing director of Altus Group, who will provide insights into the VUCA environment and the implications for leaders and teams; and Dr. Debra Jasper, founder and chief executive officer of Mindset Digital, who will demonstrate the art of selling in a social world and creating connections in a digital age.
“While the Canadian insurance industry grapples with enormous challenges today, those challenges also mean new growth and innovation,” said Lemanski. “With a focus on thriving during the disruption, we hope to encourage companies to move forward with renewed energy and vision for the future.”
The conference will be held at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. Now in its sixth year, the LIMRA LOMA Canada Annual Conference draws more than 100 attendees from about 40 companies throughout Canada.
