WINDSOR, Conn., October 1, 2018 – LIMRA announced today that world-renowned comedian Murilo Gun will be the opening keynote speaker at the 2018 LIMRA LOMA Latin American Conference. The event will be held on October 31 – November 1, 2018 in New York City.
The conference will focus on key industry issues in Latin America and gather leaders in the life and health insurance industries to one place. Attendees will gain insights on the latest strategic transformation trends impacting the industry, including InsurTech, IFRS17, behavioral economics, customer expectations and profitable microinsurance solutions.
Gun will speak about the importance of creativity, which he believes gets lost during the standard educational and growing process. He will discuss with attendees the power of bringing creative people into organizations to help them grow, innovate and continue to be relevant.
Santiago Bilinkis, an entrepreneur, technologist, and the founder of Quasar Ventures, will be the closing keynote speaker for the event. Bilinkis will discuss challenges that modern companies have attracting, retaining and developing talent that keeps them competitive. He will also speak to the impact of technological advancements and what they mean for the world of work.

- Todd A. Silverhart, corporate vice president and director of insurance research, LIMRA, will talk about how companies can develop strategies to become more customer-centric.
- Laurent Pochat-Cottilloux, global head of health reinsurance partnerships, AXA, will explore three mega-trends that are disrupting the health insurance markets across the globe.
- LIMRA’s Kim Landry, assistant research director of workplace benefits research and Jennifer Douglas, research director of developmental research, will look at consumer’s motivations for shopping for life insurance. The session will dig into emotional benefits people desire from life insurance, as well as the types of messaging that increase the likelihood of a purchase.
The 2018 LIMRA LOMA Latin American Conference will be held at the New York Marriott Marquis.
