Only One in Four American Households Have Disability Insurance, LIMRA Finds. LIMRA Supports May as Disability Insurance Awareness Month
WINDSOR, Conn., May 3, 2010—Despite the fact that more than 70 percent of American households rely on two incomes to make ends meet, only 26 percent of American households have any type of disability insurance, according to LIMRA’s research.
Sixty one percent of Americans believe most people need disability insurance, yet only 26 percent said they owned any, according to the 2015 Insurance Barometer Study conducted by LIMRA and Life Happens.
