Financial Executives to Focus on Emerging Distribution Trends in Asia
WINDSOR, Conn., Oct. 6, 2014 — LIMRA and LOMA are pleased to announce the third annual LIMRA LOMA Asia Distribution Conference will be held in Singapore, Nov. 6-7, 2014.
Recent LIMRA research, done in collaboration with Swiss Re, has found while traditional distribution channels have remained steady in Asia, the bank and direct channels have witnessed significant growth.
"Our research finds that consumers are looking for convenience and price and are gravitating toward channels that offer these," said Ian Watts, senior vice president and managing director, International Operations, LIMRA and LOMA. "It is critical that senior leaders understand consumer sentiment and behavior in order to develop an effective strategy to engage with today's consumers. Our event is designed to offer knowledge on emerging distribution trends and industry best practices, which will help companies thrive in this dynamic environment."
The conference will include a Greater China CEO Panel, in which industry leaders will discuss their vision for China and for their companies, and outline their tactics for balancing distribution channels, leveraging market potential, and understanding new market realities. Panelists will be:
- Eric Chang, president, ICBC-AXA Life Assurance Co.
- George Tan, board director and chief executive officer, Sino-U.S. United MetLife Insurance Company Limited (MetLife China)
- Ernest Chan, president, Nan Shan Life Insurance
Among other highlights, the conference will include a discussion of ways to enhance bank distribution through strategic partnerships, and a session about how to connect with potential recruits who conduct more of their personal and professional interactions online. To conclude the event, Hugh Terry, founder of the Digital Insurer newsletter, will deliver a keynote address about the importance of "digital thinking."
The conference hosts executives at insurance companies and banks in the Asia-Pacific region who are responsible for distribution, channel management, bancassurance, sales, and training. Those who register before Oct. 10 will receive a discount. For more information and to register, please visit: LIMRA LOMA 2014 Asia Distribution Conference.
