Summary

First initiated in 2008, this quarterly survey tracks consumer opinions of the economy and confidence in the financial services industry.

  • Concern about the U.S. economy declined by 6 percentage points since April. Still, more than half of Americans remain deeply concerned.
  • Americans continue to be more worried about the broader economy than their own financial situation, with 32 percent expressing high concern about their personal finances.
  • Confidence in the financial services industry has remained largely stable since spring.
