  • Larry Hartshorn

    Corporate Vice President and Director, International Research
    LIMRA and LOMA

    Larry Hartshorn is responsible for driving LIMRA and LOMA member value and growth for global markets. This includes the development and execution of LIMRA’s international research strategy to provide insights on trends in products and distribution, consumer behavior and sentiment, and regulation and technology for markets throughout the world.  He also leads the global consulting program across the enterprise, ensuring our members can leverage our deep knowledge of best practices in the global insurance industry, gain practical solutions, and receive hands-on tactical support to solve problems and implement a variety of projects.

    Prior to joining LIMRA in 2015, Larry was Aetna’s executive director for Greater China in Shanghai. His responsibilities included strategic planning, research, management operation and consulting. Larry also previously served as research program manager for The Ohio State University, managing a multi-million dollar cluster of private, state, and federal grants targeting primary, secondary and higher education curriculum reform.

  • Saurav Biswas

    Associate Director, International Research

    Saurav is responsible for providing methodology oversight to all International Research activities. In addition, he conducts a wide variety of research, collaborates research liaison, contributes towards Strategic Issues Series papers besides promoting LIMRA's research. Saurav is a seasoned Strategy & Research professional and has experience of working on a wide range of areas such as Consumer research, Strategy & Operations, Economic research, Financial research while working for large corporations like Swiss Reinsurance company, Walmart and other prominent research organizations.

    Saurav holds an MBA in International Business from Amity University and is currently working towards FLMI designation.

  • Hernán Poblete Miranda

    Associate Research Director, International Research
    LIMRA and LOMA
    Hernán is responsible for the LIMRA Research Program in Latin America. He specializes in market research and development of distribution, communication and marketing tools. Previously, he was Deputy Director of LIMRA Operations for Latin America for 8 years, during which time he designed strategic contents in distribution and marketing for the associated companies, and carried out consulting activities in human resources, recruitment, selection and training. In 2007 he co-founded IMR, an international network of specialists in research and strategic design. Since then he has conducted market studies, design and development of distribution and marketing strategies for companies in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
  • Ingrid R. Goodenow, FLMI

    Senior Analyst, International Research

    Goodenow is responsible for managing research projects in Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. In this role, she tracks trends and developments in agent productivity and retention, bancassurance operations, and business persistency in these regions. She began her career at LIMRA in 1998 serving as project director for several benchmarking studies, including those covering field compensation plans, agent retention, and distribution system costs for companies in the home service marketplace. Additional responsibilities during her tenure include research in the Independent Financial Planner and Bank Broker-Dealer arenas.

    Prior to joining LIMRA, Goodenow was a senior compensation specialist with Phoenix Home Life, where she began her financial services career in 1986.

    Goodenow is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.

  • Kristen Gillis, ALMI

    Research Analyst

    Gillis has been an analyst on the International Research team since 2011. She currently conducts research and reports on the regions of Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America. She joined the team with a background in project management, communication writing, life insurance and finance.

    She received her B.A. from the University of Connecticut and is currently working to obtain an FLMI designation.

  • Janice Sun

    Associate Research Analyst
    Janice joined the International Research team in July 2016. She is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the Limra international research program in the Greater China region. Prior to joining LIMRA, Janice was a senior manager in HR professional at both multinational and domestic insurers in China for many years. She received her B.A. in English from Shanghai International Studies University in 1999.
